This weekend was a very special occasion for 1st Burwood Scout Group, who on Saturday September 12, celebrated their 100th birthday!
The Group's special centenary of Scouting was held at their Scout Hall on Waimea Street, where Members, former Members, and Burwood City Council Mayor, Councillor John Faker gathered to celebrate.
Councillor Faker acknowledged 1st Burwood for its tireless efforts in community service and congratulated them for carrying on the tradition for 100 years.
It was also a chance to pay tribute to Group Leader and District Commissioner of Canterbury Vale Cheryl Borsak who was awarded for 40 years of dedicated service. While, Cub Scout Winston Li was presented with his Grey Wolf badge!
