|Get Involved in the Steer North Charity Event|
From December 3 to January 16 a number of keen cyclists from across the country will set off on a 4,000km journey from Melbourne to Cairns, in a bid to promote healthy living and raise money to go towards cancer research, education and patient care.
Steer North are now taking registrations for the 45 day cycle, as well as some smaller 1 day riding events. However, they also require some community assistance to ensure the riders are well looked after on their journey.
Heading from Melbourne to Canberra to Sydney and then Brisbane and Cairns, there will be some stop-off points in between and a requirement for food, shelter and warm showers.
If you live in any of these areas, are available on these dates and are feeling quite generous, you could become a host:
With your support as hosts, the riders will encourage members of the community to live healthy and active lifestyles as a way to prevent non-communicable diseases, including cancer. Health promotion sessions and educational material will be delivered and distributed by the riders in urban and regional communities.
There's so much you can do to support this great initiative, and if you want to take on the big ride, we salute you!
