|Scouts From Sydney North Region Have Fun On The Water|
The North Harbour Scout Water Base Fellowship has a very busy start to the boating season, kicking off with a canoe course of 26 participants including Scouts, Venturers and Leaders from Killarney Heights, Epping and Wellington Scout Groups.
During the first weekend, at Manly Dam, participants learned skills in deep and shallow water entry, canoe care and repair, along with some theory. On the second weekend they continued their journey on Brisbane Waters. All had a great time, everyone made it and are now very skillful paddlers.
A number of Fellowship Members ran the water activities at the SNR JOTA-JOTI at Narrabeen, where canoeing and swimming were the main activites. Sailing on the catamarans was also a highlight.
Between those events, Cub Packs from 1st Seaforth, West Pymble, Berowra, 1st Balgowlah and Beecroft-Cheltenham attended Cub canoe activity days on Narrabeen Lagoon.
There are plenty more canoe courses, Cub activity days, sailing fun days coming up in the New Year, if interested head over to the website.
