What a truly amazing State event was the State Environment Activity Camp (SEAC) 2016 held for the first time at Camp Coutts from 23-25 September,attracting a combined 170 participants from six Regions made up of 58 Cubs, 35 Scouts, 27 Venturers, 4 Rovers, and 46 Leaders coming from as far away as Byron Bay, Kyogle,and Burra.
The NSW Youth Environment Team (YET) conducted a well coordinated selection of rotated Environmental team based activities which included;
During the weekend Cubs & Scouts were able to complete part of the World Scout Environment Badge and the Venturers their Venturer Level Environment Tape.
Thanks to Paul Ellis and the Palm Catering Team who kept us extremely well fed.
On Sunday we were visited by our Chief Commissioner Neville Tomkins and his wife Jenny who joined in the activities and were inspired by the level of true teamwork and commitment displayed congratulating the YET and other volunteers on the running of such a successful State activity.
Neville added that he wants to be present at SEAC 2017 which has a tentative date of 22-24 September, at Camp Coutts.Bryan Davison Region Commissioner, Sotuh Metropolitan, who was in attendance is also hoping to see SEAC back at Camp Coutts next year.
