SUMMARY:Scouting Essentials - Online via Teams
DESCRIPTION:Closing date: 13-Mar-2026 \nCourse Cost: $45 and will be invoiced to chosen Payment Class upon acceptance. \nThis course is run over 1 evening (Wednesday 8th April 2026) and 2 full days all online via Teams on 11th & 12th April 2026. You must be able to attend all 3 sessions to be able to complete this training.\nThis session on Wednesday 8th April includes an introduction to the MS Teams environment and will also make sure all tech issues can be sorted out before the weekend. \nThe Scouting Essentials training is a hands-on weekend where participants can apply skills learned from the On Demand Training in a facilitated environment. Scouting Essentials is the first step on your pathway to a Certificate of Proficiency. \nIf you have completed a Basic Training course within the last 3 years\, you don’t have to now complete Scouting Essentials but do stay up to date with changes to the youth program. \nYou must complete the following pre-requisites BEFORE APPLYING FOR THE COURSE: \n\nIndividual Adult Volunteer Plan (IAVP) Phase 1 (IAVP Phase 1 form can be found here)\nScouting Preliminary On Demand Training\nScouting Essentials On Demand Training\nAccess to a copy of the New Program Handbook (available from the Scout Shop when signed in as a Scout member)\nProficient with Microsoft Teams – This is essential for this course\nAccess to a computer with camera and microphone (an ipad or phone is not sufficient for this course.)\nWillingness to download the Microsoft Teams application to the above device\n\n Click here to apply\nCourse numbers are limited.
