DESCRIPTION:Dragon Skin is the premier event in the NSW Venturer Scout calendar. At its core\, it is a hiking and initiative competition involving up to one thousand participants from across Australia. Dragon Skin is open to Venturer Scouts\, Ranger Guides\, and even school groups working towards their Duke of Edinburgh award. SUMMARY:H&C Corroboree
DESCRIPTION:The Hunter and Coastal Corroboree is the biggest event in the Hunter and Coastal Region\, held every year in January. \nThis fantastic five day camp is full of fun\, challenging bases and exciting commercial activites\, as well as a Bivouac overnight hike\, where scouts will bring a day pack\, small tarp and poles to sleep in their Hutchie\, which your scout leader can explain more about. \nThe camp is based on the patrol system with Units camping Jamboree style across several sub-camps\, and Scouts and Leaders are fully catered for.  It’s just like a mini-Jamboree. \nScouts will camp in Units made up from their local district. DESCRIPTION:Scouts Australia is sending a Contingent to the 16th Aotearoa / New Zealand Jamboree in December 2025 – January 2026. \nAttending a New Zealand Venture is an outstanding introduction to International Scouting. Set in one of the most picturesque countries on the planet\, Australian Scouts will be offered a program of outdoor adventure and cultural immersion that will deliver a once-in-a-lifetime experience. \nDates \nThe Australian Contingent will depart on 28 December 2025 and return to Australia on 9 January 2026. An optional post-tour featuring a selection of thrill-seeking and cultural activities will also be offered to Australian Contingent members\, returning to Australia on 14 January 2026.   \nLocation \nPhase One includes a choice of Expeditions stretching from the upper South Island to the middle of the North Island. And it is heading to Broken Hill. \nLights\, Camera\, Action! is an all-sections week-long camp being held in the beautiful outback town of Broken Hill. It is being held from 27th September through to 4th October. DESCRIPTION:An Australian Jamboree is an experience like no other. The next Australian Jamboree will be held in Maryborough\, Queensland\, from 6th – 15th January 2025. \nJamboree is a camp which is held every three years by Scouts Australia. The Jamboree is traditionally held in early January and typically runs for ten nights. Each Scouting Branch (State) is the effective host of the Australian Jamboree and takes responsibility for its management. For decades\, the annual Jamboree On The Air (JOTA) has brought together millions of Scouts and Guides around the world to connect through radio while building friendships\, learning new skills\, and discovering the international dimensions of Scouting/Guiding.\nThis GWS JOTA is being organised by Blue Mountains Scout Fellowship specifically for Cubs\, Joeys and Pre-Junior/Junior Guides and will be hosted by the Blue Mountains Amateur Radio Club (BMARC)\, who will provide the equipment and expertise for the youth to experience Amateur Radio. \nPanania Jota/Joti base\nSouth Met Region\nFor 2024 operating callsign VK2SCH\noperating both Saturday 19/10 and Sunday 20/10 from 10am .\ndoing Joti and on Radio operating HF mostly 40m & 80m\, EchoLink\, 2m and also running all day zoom meetings\nMichael Turner VK2WMT \nPort Stephens District JOTA Activity Day\nNorth Coast Region\nPort Stephens District\, 1st Tilligerry Scout Hall\, Tanilba Bay NSW 2319 \nPort Stephens Amateur Radio Club – VK2DLP will operate their JOTA site from 1st Tilligerry Scout Hall\, Tanilba Bay\, NSW for the Joeys\, Cubs\, Scouts and Venturers of the Port Stephens District.
