DESCRIPTION:Scouts Australia is sending a Contingent to the 16th Aotearoa / New Zealand Jamboree in December 2025 – January 2026. \nAttending a New Zealand Venture is an outstanding introduction to International Scouting. Set in one of the most picturesque countries on the planet\, Australian Scouts will be offered a program of outdoor adventure and cultural immersion that will deliver a once-in-a-lifetime experience. \nDates \nThe Australian Contingent will depart on 28 December 2025 and return to Australia on 9 January 2026. An optional post-tour featuring a selection of thrill-seeking and cultural activities will also be offered to Australian Contingent members\, returning to Australia on 14 January 2026.   \nLocation \nPhase One includes a choice of Expeditions stretching from the upper South Island to the middle of the North Island. DESCRIPTION:An Australian Jamboree is an experience like no other. The next Australian Jamboree will be held in Maryborough\, Queensland\, from 6th – 15th January 2025. \nJamboree is a camp which is held every three years by Scouts Australia. The Jamboree is traditionally held in early January and typically runs for ten nights. Each Scouting Branch (State) is the effective host of the Australian Jamboree and takes responsibility for its management. SUMMARY:Venturer Scout Leadership Course (for Youth)
DESCRIPTION:This will be a compressed Venturer Leadership course and will cover various leadership styles and techniques. To complete the requirements for the Queens Scout award an additional leadership activity will need to be completed after the course. This will be discussed and planned as part of the course. This is a uniformed event so please arrive in full uniform. Please also BYO lunch\, morning and afternoon tea. The hall has an excellent kitchen with microwave\, boiling water and fridge. DESCRIPTION:This event is for Venturers who wish to gain abseiling qualifications regardless of their present level of ability. So if you are at the zero end and haven’t abseiled before or at the hero end and done loads of abseiling but don’t have a peice of paper to proove it. This is the program for you.\nWe will work through the various skills and theory that you will require with the aim of everyone coming out the other end with an appropriate level of qualification and a clear view of how to continue to develop these skills and qualification levels. \nTo acheive this you will not only need to engage fully in the weekend program but complete some of the Scout online learning modules and attend an online meeting prior to the event. \nIf you have registered with the Scout Association Institute of Training (SAIT) you may also be able to get credit towards Cert II or Cert III VET modules.
