DESCRIPTION:Leader Training Weekend: \nGroup Leader training will be held at Baden-Powell Activity Centre on 14-15 March 2026. We are running the below courses at the site. Please join us for a weekend of learning and networking with fellow Leaders and Rovers.\nApplication closing date: 13-Feb-2026 \nOne Program\, One Journey\, One Curriculum \nEvery Trainee Leader and Rover Scout will embark on a five-step journey to become a fully trained leader. Our new curriculum will be consistent for all leaders\, as we prepare to support our Scouts on their continuous journey through the Youth Program.\nAs you undertake your training pathway\, you have the opportunity to implement your prior learning into your course\, whether that is in specific actions for our Youth Program Leaders (Leaders of Youth) or supporting other adult members for our Program Support Leaders (Leaders of Adults). \n  \nScouting Essentials (All Leaders):\nCost: $160 – Residential and catered \nThe Scouting Essentials training is a hands-on weekend where participants can apply skills learned from the On Demand Training in a facilitated environment. Scouting Essentials is the first step on your pathway to a Certificate of Proficiency. \n Click here to apply\n  \nYouth Pathway Scouting Essentials (Youth2Adult):\nCost: $45 – SUNDAY ONLY \nThis course is designed for experienced Youth members or those that have completed Milestone 2 or 3. \n Click here to apply\n  \nScouting Adventure (all Youth Program Leaders including Rover Scouts):\nCost: $90 – Residential and self-catered \nThis course is the Scouting Adventure course that is required for all Youth Program Leader and Rover Scouts (for personal development) to complete their Certificate of Proficiency Youth Program Leader. DESCRIPTION:Closing date: 20-Feb-2026 \nCost: $90 Residential and self-catered \nNote: Overnight stay in your own hike tent is a requirement of this course. \nThis course is the Scouting Adventure course that is required for all Youth Program Leader and Rover Scouts (for personal development) to complete their Certificate of Proficiency Youth Program Leader. If you are planning on becoming a Rover Unit Leader or Rover Advisor\, you should complete the Program Support Leader pathway. \nIf you have completed a Basic Outdoor Skills (BOS) or equivalent\, you don’t have to complete Scouting Adventure but do stay up to date with changes to the youth program. \nYou must complete the following pre-requisites BEFORE APPLYING FOR THE COURSE: \n\nIndividual Adult Volunteer Plan (IAVP) Phase 1 Youth Program Leader if you are currently a Program Support Leader changing training pathways (The form can be found here)\nScouting Essentials Practical Course (or equivalent)\nScouting Adventure On Demand Training modules (previously known as e-Basic Outdoor Skills)\n\nThis course is a self-catering course. Leaders will also need to bring their own hike (light weight) tent\, and all equipment required for a hike. Please note that you will not be hiking with all your equipment\, only a day pack. \nTo apply\, please click the link below. \nIf you have experience in camping and bushwalking\, including day walks\, you could consider completing this via our Recognition of Proficiency (ROP) process. \nTo apply for a ROP workbook\, you need to have completed the Scouting Adventure On Demand Training modules and complete the application here.
