Leader Training Weekend:
Group Leader training will be held at Baden-Powell Activity Centre on 25-26 July 2026. We are running the below courses at the site. Please join us for a weekend of learning and networking with fellow Leaders and Rovers.

One Program, One Journey, One Curriculum
Every Trainee Leader and Rover Scout will embark on a five-step journey to become a fully trained leader. Our new curriculum will be consistent for all leaders, as we prepare to support our Scouts on their continuous journey through the Youth Program.
As you undertake your training pathway, you have the opportunity to implement your prior learning into your course, whether that is in specific actions for our Youth Program Leaders (Leaders of Youth) or supporting other adult members for our Program Support Leaders (Leaders of Adults).
Scouting Essentials (All Leaders):
Cost: $160 – Residential and catered
The Scouting Essentials training is a hands-on weekend where participants can apply skills learned from the On Demand Training in a facilitated environment. Scouting Essentials is the first step on your pathway to a Certificate of Proficiency.

Scouting Adventure (all Youth Program Leaders including Rover Scouts):
Cost: $90 – Residential and self-catered
This course is the Scouting Adventure course that is required for all Youth Program Leader and Rover Scouts (for personal development) to complete their Certificate of Proficiency Youth Program Leader. If you are planning on becoming a Rover Unit Leader or Rover Advisor, you should complete the Program Support Leader pathway.

Scouting Management (all Program Support Leaders, Rover Unit Leaders & Rover Advisors):
Cost: $160 – Residential and catered
This course is the Scouting Management course that is required for all Program Support Leaders, Rover Unit Leaders & Rover Advisors to complete their Certificate of Proficiency Program Support Leader.

Scouting Leadership (Wood Badge Training – all Leaders & Rovers):
Cost: $225 – Residential and catered
The Scouting Leadership training is a required component to complete the stage of your training pathway where Leaders will be issued with a Wood Badge Parchment, Wood Beads and the Gilwell Scarf.

The following cancelation policy is applicable to this training;
- Withdrawal before the Closing Date – Full refund
- Withdrawal after the closing date of the course – less $20 charge
- Withdrawal less than 5 days before the course – No refund
(Exceptional circumstances will be considered by your RCATD)

- All prerequisites must be completed before applying and before the closing date.
- Your basic information may be shared with the Department of Communities and Justice for the purpose of grant reporting.
