Name: Grant Whitehorn

Role in Scouts: Deputy Region Commissioner HR and Communication, South Coast and Tablelands Region

Day Job: I am the Director of GRC Consulting and Training Services, which is my own consultancy business specializing in Governance, Risk Management, Compliance and Corporate Servuces.

Hobbies and Interests: Scouting of course! I also like traveling, socialising with friends and take a keen interest in politics and history.

Favourite moment in Scouting: Running the 2005 ACT Cuboree. What an amazing event and so satisfying seeing so many happy faces of Cub Scouts having an awesome time!

What inspired you to work with youth members? Young people show me that anything is possible and that through the power of the program we can create a better world!

What key thing has a youth member said to you that has stayed with you? “With your help I can a achieve anything!”

Why did you become a Youth Safe Advocate? To help keep our youth members safe so that they can enjoy a great program experience.

Why is the Youth Safe Advocate scheme important for Scouts NSW? We need to meet the expectations of our community so that people know Scouts is a safe place for their kids to have fun, learn something and help create a better world.

What is the key message you would everyone to remember about the Youth Safe Advocate scheme? Be Risk aware, be Youth Safe!
