The State Service Centre and Regions are registered as “The Scout Association of Australia NSW Branch” for GST under ABN 42 460 434 054 from 1st July 2000. Under GST legislation, most non-profit organisations with small independent units, can elect to treat units with income less than $150,000 per annum as if they were separate units. Scouts NSW made this election in July 2020, so that all Groups, Rover Scout Units and Fellowships are treated as sub-entities.
