Scouts NSW is committed to Child Safety and continues to work to improve the ways in which we contribute to the safety and well-being of children.
In January 2017 the Scouts NSW Board of Directors appointed the Australian Childhood Foundation (ACF) to undertake a review of our current policies and standards for protecting young people and guide us in developing best practice methods to better support our youth and adult members of Scouts NSW.

The Australian Childhood Foundation (ACF) Safeguarding Children Program will support Scouts NSW to:
• enhance the collective culture across the organisation to safeguard children and young people;
• review policies and practices to understand how children and young people are currently safeguarded;
• engage Scouts Australia NSW volunteer members and staff to hear their views of how children and young people are currently safeguarded; and
• explore strategies and a best approach for how all members of Scouts Australia NSW can better safeguard and respond to children and young people into the future.
Hearing from and engaging with all adult members of Scouting is a key element of the Safeguarding Children Program.
