Scouting offers a world renowned and industry recognised program providing today’s youth with opportunities to experience teamwork, adventure, friendship and to gain leadership skills.
However, there are a growing number of families who find themselves in financially challenging circumstances. The result is that they are unable to afford the annual fees for Scouting despite our best efforts to minimise costs.
The Family Support Fund has been established to assist families, Rovers and young Leaders in need for a 12 month period so that both youth members, young Leaders and carers can both gain from the benefits of Scouting, and hope for a better, brighter future.
2016 - 2023 Chief Commissioner of Scouts NSW, Neville Tomkins OAM JP said, “As a fully inclusive organisation, Scouts NSW provides access to all youth regardless of race, religion and socio-economic background. It encourages them to work and play together in harmony. Through the Family Support Fund we are able to assist youth members and young Leaders from financially disadvantaged backgrounds, so that these young people, can benefit from the skills gained through Scouting such as confidence, self-reliance, leadership and team building.”
“The Family Support Fund initiative will help develop young people to be better citizens of the local, national and international communities regardless of their background,” Neville added.
Scouts NSW is a not for profit organisation that relies on the generosity of its volunteers and supporters.
Every dollar you donate goes directly to a disadvantaged youth member. Donations of $2 and above are tax-deductible.
Please help families in need enjoy the life changing benefits of Scouting.
