Scouts NSW are now seeking applications for appointment as the movement’s next Chief Commissioner in 2023, following the conclusion of the current Chief’s term of office.
This is a key role in shaping the future of Scouts NSW and driving forward the life-changing impact of the Scout’s Program for young people through building resilience, leadership and skills.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a visionary, empathetic and energetic leader to contribute to the strategic pathway for Scouts as the organisation meets the diverse and challenging needs of young people and enables them to learn and grow through the Scouting mission and values.
The Chief Commissioner leads the adult volunteers of the organisation, working alongside the Chief Executive Officer, who has accountability for the business affairs of the organisation. The Chief Commissioner is accountable to the Board of Directors and is recommended for appointment by the Board to the Chief Scout of Australia, the Governor-General.
Applications are encouraged from people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds. If multiple suitable candidates are identified who are amenable to sharing the role, this arrangement may also be considered.
