Raise Our Voice in Parliament campaign – opportunities for young Scouts under 21

Raise Our Voice Australia has reached out to Scouts NSW to promote an incredible opportunity for young Scouts under the age of 21 to have their voices heard in Parliament.

Raise Our Voice Australia has partnered with over 70 federal politicians, who have agreed to use one of their 90 second speaking slots to read a speech written by a young person aged 21 or under from their electorate. The following eligible electorates are:

  • Bennelong
  • Macarthur
  • Fowler
  • Cunningham
  • Macquarie
  • Wentworth
  • Robertson
  • Werriwa
  • Warringah

Speeches should answer the prompt “What do you want to see from Australia’s new parliament?” and should be roughly around 200 words.

Speech submissions close on 19 October  – if you are 21 or under or know someone who is, please head to www.raiseourvoiceaustralia.com/youthvoice to access speech templates, check out the participating politicians, and submit a speech.

Speeches will be read from 21-24 November 2022 for Youth Voice in Parliament week. This non-partisan initiative endeavours to increase the political literacy of all our young voters and voters-to-be (individuals aged 21 and under).

This is a great opportunity for any young people across all Scouts sections (as long as your under 21) to have their voices heard and to speak up about matters they are passionate about.
