The Assistant State Commissioner (Major Events) is a member of the One Program team within the Youth Program and Support portfolio and has a specific focus on supporting the Venturer Scout and Scout Sections.
Working jointly with the Program Support Leads to identify opportunities for member recruitment and retention via Major Events, the Assistant Chief Commissioner (Major Events) will work with Major Event teams to facilitate the best possible program experience for members. They will also assist Region-based contacts with Major Event guidelines, requirements and answers, and will support the work of the various Event Teams (established and forming) and staff as they undertake their duties.
Key responsibilities include:
- Focusing on helping adult and youth members achieve the best program and outcomes as possible whilst delivering affordable, attractive and inclusive events
- Being responsible for ensuring governance and oversight of Major Events within NSW.

This position is open to any member or supporter who has an associated area of expertise or interest and who believes they can make a positive difference to Scouting in NSW.
