Most dedicated Scouters commit their volunteer time not merely to Scouting but to other community activities as well. The Australian Honours Advisory Committee (formerly known as ‘The Civil Awards Committee’) is responsible for ensuring that members of the Scouting Movement who have provided outstanding service to the community are recognised with an Australian honour.
The Australian Honours Advisory Committe can offer advice and assistance to significantly enhance the prospects of award nominations being successful. This includes evidence that an individual has given service ‘over and above that which would be expected of an ordinary member of the community’ to other community activities.
For advice on award nominations, members are invited to communicate with the Australian Honours and Awards Secetariat or the Committee either through State Office, via their Region Commissioner or to the Chairman, Roger Butler OAM at [email protected].
