At the February meeting of the Board of Scouts NSW, Richard Hodge was appointed as the new Deputy Chair of Scouts NSW.
Richard has been involved in Scouting for more than twenty years, initially enrolling as a Cub Scout aged 7. The values and skills that Scouts gave him as a young person has informed both his professional life and his role on the Board of Scouts NSW, which he joined in July 2021.
Richard’s experience provides a strategic perspective to Scouts NSW, as well as representing the youth values of the organisation.
Kerry McGoldrick, Chair of Scouts NSW said “Richard has made an outstanding contribution since joining the Board. Stepping up as Deputy Chair, he will be instrumental in leading Scouts’ strategic direction as it empowers young people to make positive changes in their lives and the wider community”.
Richard Hodge is presently a Senior Policy Advisor within the NSW Government. A chartered accountant, he commenced his career at KPMG before moving into advisory roles within government.
“Scouts is part of my story. I know its impact firsthand and my experience in Scouts is foundational to who I am today. I want to see Scouts thrive and to give back to the next generation by ensuring they have the opportunity to develop the values and skills that I know Scouts will give them” says Richard.
We congratulate Richard Hodge on his new role and cannot wait for the positive approach and impact he will bring to Scouts NSW.
