What is Variation of Scope and how do I know if I need one?

The Scope is a list of works that you agreed on between your Group and the granting body. Anything that is stepping outside of that agreed list is called a Variation. It should be officially lodged with the granting body’s office (sometimes as a general notification, sometimes as an official online Form). Scouts NSW will lodge it on your behalf.

Example: if you agreed on installation of solar batteries but the solar company said that your roof should be fixed first for technical and safety reasons, you are obligated to lodge a Variation of Scope because this is not what was initially agreed on. In this case you will be cancelling the Solar Installation and lodging a Roof Replacement scope.
