Anthony Pritchard
Current role within Scouts:
Regional Commissioner Personnel, Safety and Compliance – South Coast and Tablelands Region
Will use the following approach:
In my role with the oversight of SCT regional camp sites, I have undertaken the process of unification of the various management and WHS structures that have been in place for some time at SCT Region Scout Camps, with a clear direction towards a consistent application of the regional directions for the safe operation of the camps. This included the development of Safe Work Methods Statements and safe operating procedures that can be used across all of our regions camps. We now have a focus on the review and analysis of incident reports for the camps and the region I would seek to explore additional opportunities to improve safety processes for adoption across all camps and activity centres across the state.
Interested in representing the workgroup on health and safety matters because:
I find something incredibly satisfying about acting in a way that is consistent with my personal values, whilst providing a safer environment for young people and leaders to participate in Scouting. Being able to say I changed something in Scouting, to improve WHS within Scouting, gives me great satisfaction and enables me to use my skills to improve the lives of others. For me, it changes my life from being self-centered to being something with meaning for others, too.
Has first-hand experience in health and safety through:
I have been a management representative of organisational WHS committee on several occasions over many years throughout my career. I am currently working with the senior leadership team of SCT in the overall management of incident reports and WHS issues and professionally I am a member of the CatholicCare WHS and Quality Committee.
