Extreme adventures, real achievements!
Venturer Scouts is for young people aged 14–17 years. This section is a do-it-yourself mix of fun, adventure and personal challenge that brings together like-minded young people.
Venturer Scouts progress to the Rover Scout section after turning 18 however, Venturer Scouts who turn 18 during Year 12 can wait to progress until they have completed Year 12 as long as they have a verified WWCC and National Police clearance.
As a Venturer Scout, you’ll have the space to have fun learning and developing your own character at your own pace. Venturer Scouts can:
- Discover and explore independence
- Broaden their perspectives
- Secure their interests and priorities in life
- Learn to rely strongly on peer support
- Take on more responsibilities
- Seek purpose, challenge and risk
As a Venturer Scout, you may find yourself exploring wilderness across Australia, camping above the snowline or diving on coral reefs. You could be abseiling into a limestone cave or climbing a sheer rock face. Perhaps you’ll learn white water kayaking or ride your mountain bike on an expedition across real mountains.
